Client Testimonials

Jabari was clear, authentic, and open to all of our questions. It’s hard to have a gender training that allows questions from people who might not be as “woke” as others, without shaming the people who don’t know as much, or who may feel resistant to new ideas. But Jabari cultivated this really open, easy communication, where we genuinely learned new things, without shaming or virtue signaling. This was really productive.
— Morgan Kain, Teacher
Jabari is a dynamic speaker. Their gender inclusion presentation to the Katherine Delmar Burke School faculty was thoughtful, informative and comprehensive. Jabari also created a safe space for everyone, faculty, staff and administration to deepen their understanding on how we can support our students in their gender development. Jabari spoke with clarity and power on the importance of affirming our students’ gender identity. We all feel smarter and better prepared to live up to Burke’s gender inclusion statement. Thank you Jabari.
— RENITA LIVOLSI, DIRECTOR OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING, KATHERINE DELMAR BURKE SCHOOL
The training was excellent. Well prepared and concise. The slides were very helpful. This is information that we can use in our work and we will integrate the information into our intake and case management process. I also thought the style of presentation was very good and encouraged the audience to participate and take risks, in order to gain knowledge.

Jabari, your upbeat personality and frankness were so refreshing. I was impressed by your ability to make a strong correction to someone’s thinking without alienating the individual.
— Anonymous, Teacher, Baltimore City College
The time and detail spent on developing a shared language regarding the LGBTQ community was helpful and provided new learning that I will be able to apply in my role. I continue to think about the use of proactive language to share with our community to know our stance on how we (system and school) will support and affirm students in the LGBTQ community.
— Anonymous, Administrator, Baltimore County Public Schools
Jabari made a true impact on our community. Jabari’s professional development around equity and inclusion enabled our adults and children to think differently about their role in our school. Staff began to identify areas where we could improve while children began to speak up about things that they heard and saw that didn’t fit our values. By bringing Jabari to our program, we improved the way in which we took care of each other.
— Matthew Ebert, Former Principal, Baltimore City Public Schools
As an administrator, I balance all members of the community. Today, I gained some confidence in having some choices validated; however, I also realized some areas where I have to dig deeper. The speakers’ engagement with our faculty and willingness to meet us where we are was outstanding.
— ANONYMOUS, DIRECTOR, PRIVATE NYC MIDDLE SCHOOL
I think Jabari was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. While this is a complex topic, they were able to communicate the language with our staff professionally and appropriately. I love how they reinforced that gender, sexual identity and sexual orientation are not mutually exclusive. I think it is important to raise awareness and encourage love and acceptance in the school community. Jabari said something that truly resonated with me. They mentioned that it is our job to make our children feel “safe” about how they identify themselves. For many years, schools have focused on physical safety and wellness - fire drills, lockdowns, etc. It is phenomenal to see that we are moving towards keeping our children emotionally safe as well. I want to help raise a more open minded and kinder generation.
— NICOLE GUIDERA, SECOND GRADE TEACHER, NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Jabari created a safe space for me to be able to understand and better meet the needs of LGBTQIA youth in my school community. They provided a comprehensive framework that helped me and other educators not only see WHY supporting students of color is important but HOW to support them as well. Jabari allowed us educators to ask any questions we had to support the needs in our particular community, and I now have a long list of takeaways that I can bring back to my administrators and school community.
